Clean narrow vases with uncooked rice:

1. pour a few tablespoons of uncooked rice into the vase

2. add a few drops of dish soap and fill the vase about one-quarter to one- third full with warm water

3. cover the opening with your hand or a lid, then shake or swirl the vase vigorously for 2–3 minutes. The rice will help scrub the inside

4. for tougher stains, allow the mixture to sit for a few hours or overnight, shaking it occasionally

5. empty the vase and rinse well with warm water until clean
